Peter Archuleta, Chairman

Peter was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He earned both a B.A and a Graduate degree in Public Administration. He has served as a City manager, Planning Director, Director of Public Works, General Manager and Commercial Project Manager. Peter and his wife Suzanne have three children and five grandchildren. In his spare time, Peter volunteers for the Community Food Bank.

Donna Heidinger, Clerk

Donna was born and raised in the Chicago area. She moved to Arizona in 1969. She has 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Besides being the administrator for Anacomp Micrographics until 1996, Donna also volunteered in the community, including the Amphi schools, Bible Study Fellowship, and animal/pet rescue. In 1998 Donna joined the Board of the La Canada/Magee Neighbohood Association where she is the County Liason and Secretary. Prior to her appointment to the MVFD Board of Directors, she served on the Board for the La Canada FD. Donna is currently the Clerk of the Board for MVFD.

Earle Ruhnke, Director

Earle W. Ruhnke, Sr. retired from the Chicago Fire Department in 1998 after 37 years of service. He began his career as a firefighter in 1961 and was promoted to Fire Engineer in 1970. He earned the rank of Lieutenant nine years later and was promoted to Captain in 1992, a position he held until his retirement in July 1998. Earle joined North American Union Life Assurance Society, LaSalle Branch 15, where he served in the positions of Auditing Committee, Committee of Trustees, Executive Board and then President of NAU Division of Western Catholic Union for six years. He has been on the WCU Board of Trustees since October 2000 and has been a member of NAU/WCU since 1956. Earle and his wife Marie reside in Tucson, AZ. In 2004, Earle became a member of North Ranch Linda Vista Fire Board and served as Chairman in 2006. In 2008, The North Ranch/Linda Vista District merged with the Heritage Hills and La Canada Fire Districts to form the Mountain Vista Fire District. Earle served as Chairman of the MVFD Board in 2010.

Jerry Phillips, Director

Jerry and his wife, Yolanda, moved to Arizona in 1999. He served as the Southern Arizona Manger of Snap-On Tools until his retirement in 2001. Desiring to become more involved with his community, Jerry applied for and received appointment to the Heritage Hills Fire District, where he served in several offices. As Board Chairman of the HHFD, Jerry helped to successfully merge the Heritage Hills FD with the North Ranch and La Canada Fire Districts into the newly created Mountain Vista Fire District. In 2010, Jerry served as Board Treasurer of the MVFD.

Ed Wilkerson, Chief/CEO

Chief Ed Wilkerson comes to MVFD from Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue, Port Ludlow, WA, where he spent the last 6 years as Fire Chief/Chief Executive Officer. Prior to attaining the position as Fire Chief/CEO, Chief Wilkerson spent 23 years in the field, serving as a paramedic, flight paramedic, firefighter/EMT, and eventually serving as Battalion Chief in the Clark County Fire District (Vancouver, Wa). Chief Wilkerson has participated in many professional organizations and has been very active in the communities in which he has served.
